Eran Reshef was born in 1964 in Tel Aviv, where he still lives and works till today

In the beginning of his artistic path, Reshef enrolled at Avni Institute of Painting and Sculpture, Tel Aviv. After completing the foundation year, Reshef traveled to New York to continue his education.

in 1989, he studied at Parson’s School of Design, New York.

In 1990, Reshef enrolled at Brooklyn College, where he earned his B.F.A and M.F.A degrees under the guidance of Lennart Anderson.

During his studies, Reshef won the Edward Shaw Memorial Award for Painting, CUNY both in 1992 and in 1994. Later, he won the Julius Hallgarten Prize form the National Academy of Design Museum, NY, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and the Haim Shiff Prize for Figurative Realistic painting from the Tel Aviv Museum of Art

Eran Reshef paints in a figurative and realistic style. He mainly paints realistic, everyday objects charged with emotional and private contexts. Reshef paints solely from direct observation and does not copy from photographs. Reshef exhibited a solo show at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in 2011. Regarding his works Varda Steinlauf wrote: "Eran Reshef's paintings ask the viewer to give them another look, a glance that goes beyond the technical achievement of the exact representation. They are charged with significance and ambivalence, and all the details that make up the painting – composition, texture, shape and color – appear as if through a magnifying glass, sharp and blunt in their presence. In Eran Reshef's paintings there is no adherence to "what is in reality." And perhaps even more than that, there is a realism in his paintings that avoids the desire to create symbols; Restraining the desire for absolute beauty and controlling the desire to "fix" the revealed and bring it closer to the districts of imagination. The great complexity of his painting is based on strict, rigorous, sometimes difficult, and even sublime effects. Reshef is one of the most sought-after contemporary artists in the Israeli art scene and his works can be found in leading collections in Israel and around the world, in places such as the Israel Museum, the Tel Aviv Museum, the IDB Collection and more.

ערן רשף נולד ב-1964 בתל אביב, בה הוא יוצר ומתגורר עד היום. רשף למד את התואר הראשון והשני באוניברסיטת ברוקלין שבניו יורק. הוא למד אצל הצייר לנרט אנדרסון, שם למד באופן יסודי את הציור הפיגורטיבי. ערן רשף מצייר בסגנון פיגורטיבי וריאליסטי. הוא מצייר בעיקר אובייקטים מציאותיים, יום-יומיים שטעונים בהקשרים רגשיים. רשף מצייר רק מהתבוננות ישירה ולא מעתיק מצילומים. הפרספקטיבה חשובה מאוד ביצירותיו והוא יוצר לאט על מנת להגיע לרמת דיוק מקסימלית. רשף הציג תערוכת יחיד במוזיאון תל אביב ב-2011. על עבודותיו כתבה ורדה שטיינלאוף: "ציוריו של ערן רשף מבקשים מן המתבונן לתת בהם עוד מבט, מבט שהוי החורג אל מעבר להישג הטכני שבמעשה הייצוג המדויק.‬ הנוכחות של עצמים, כמו העוף המונח במקרר או כיכר הלחם, היא יותר משל העצמים הקיימים בעולם הממשי. הם טעונים ברב־משמעויות ובאמביוולנטיות. כל הפרטים המרכיבים את הציור - קומפוזיציה, טקסטורה, צורה וצבע - נראים כאילו מבעד לזכוכית מגדלת, חריפים ובוטים בנוכחותם. בציוריו של ערן רשף אין רק דבקות ב"מה שנמצא במציאות". לא פחות מן הנאמנות לנגלה ואולי אף יותר ממנה, יש בריאליזם שבציוריו הימנעות מן הרצון ליצור סמלים; ריסון השאיפה ליופי אבסולוטי ושליטה ביצר "לתקן" את הנגלה ולקרב אותו אל מחוזות הדמיון. המורכבות הגדולה של ציורים אלו מבוססת על אפקטים מחמירים, קפדניים, קשים ולפעמים אף נשגבים.‬ זוהי הזדמנות לבחון את סוגיית הציור המכונה פיגורטיבי-ריאליסטי הממריא מעבר ומעל הגשמיות." בשנת 2010 זכה בפרס ע"ש חיים שיף לאמנות פיגורטיבית-ריאליסטית. ציוריו של רשף זוכים לביקוש גבוה ובשנת 2013 נמכר במכירה פומבית בתירוש ציור של רשף ב- 71,000 $, שיא מחיר לאמן. רשף הוא אחד מהאמנים העכשוויים המבוקשים ביותר בסצנת האמנות הישראלית ויצירותיו נמצאות באוספים מובילים בארץ ובעולם כגון מוזיאון ישראל, מוזיאון תל אביב, אוסף אי. די. בי ועוד.
